The 2021 MotoGP season is getting closer and closer and the riders and teams of the World Championship’s premier class already have their eyes on the Qatar test. Single test session before the start of the real action and which, as usual, has been preceded by the usual presentations of each structure . Although due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a large part of these events have had a ‘virtual’ format, it is clear that MotoGP has acquired a special color this year.
KTM and its Tech 3 satellite team were the first to present their project . Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder will defend the interests of the official KTM team, while Iker Lecuona and Danilo Petrucci will pilot the Tech3 KTM RC16s, tinted in ‘nuclear’ orange after the divorce with Red Bull . A striking livery where they exist and that contrasts with Yamaha’s continued commitment , despite the fact that Maverick Viñales has Fabio Quartararo as a new partner in the box of the fingerboard signature after the departure of Valentino Rossi to the Petronas team.
The LCR Honda team also contributes to this very special color variety , since Álex Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami’s Honda RC213Vs will sport different liveries. The one of the Cervera pilot has Castrol and GIVI as protagonists , drawing a very attractive decoration in which green, blue and red tones are mixed. For its part, the Nakagami Honda has Idemitsu as the main sponsor, with the relevant red and white colors. Luca Marini -VR46- and Enea Bastianini will also compete with two different liveries within Avintia Racing .
An added touch of color under the Ducati umbrella that contrasts in an obvious way with the continuity in the liveries of the official Desmosedici GP and Pramac Racing , by far both teams have a new driver line-up. Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia bet everything on red , how could it be otherwise. Meanwhile, Jorge Martín and Johann Zarco opt for the red, blue and white tones that have defined the Pramac Racing team in recent years and that until not long ago both Miller and Bagnaia wore.
Not because they are known, the colors of the Repsol Honda are no longer special . In the end, the historic and successful bond between the Spanish company and HRC leaves little room for little change in the Honda RC213V liveries. Despite everything, the orange, white and red tones that have accompanied the team for more than two decades are still pure MotoGP essence. Colors with which Pol Espargaró will debut alongside Marc Márquez , always waiting for the # 93 to finish his recovery to once again be one of the reference riders in the category.
